In Inkukhu ibeke iqanda, Sopotela’s approach to the body is formal/structural and visceral; creating meaning and fleeting re-enactments through rituals realised through daily meditations. With these rituals, structures in the form of props and costumes became an installation into which viewers were invited, the body became a repository of memory represented.
