Blood Guns and Revolutions: Izenzo (Acts) was an installation and performance work that seamlessly merged the visual and the auditory -commemorating loss, struggle and the pursuit of liberation. In this multidisciplinary work, Msaki wove together protest songs, hymns and love songs to ask questions about ‘Izenzo’ (acts).
About Msaki
Asanda Lusaseni Mvana known professionally as Msaki, is a South African composer, singer, and songwriter. Born in East London, she has always been involved with music and in 2008, at the age of 20, became a member of an alternative rock band at college. Her albums include Extended Play Nal'ithemba (2013) and Zaneliza: How the Water Moves (2016) which was nominated for Best Adult Contemporary Album.
