Wezile Mgibe

And When They Turn, Home Was No More

ICA Live Art Festival 2018

Mgibe's interest in site-specific work began in 2015 when he developed a performance character that plays the role of an interrogator, fighter, spokesman, and more importantly, a consummate problem solver who advocates against unwelcoming, hostile spaces. His work focuses on issues of women abuse, gender-based violence, and identity.
